Guided Bird Hunts for Ruffed Grouse and Woodcock
Grouse season begins September 15 and runs through November 14, reopening December 1st and closing on January 1. Late season hunting is dependent on snow depth. Woodcock season open September 15 and runs for 45 days ending on October 29. We have a variety of breeds to hunt over including a Brittany’s and English Setter. The Brittany’s will be our work horses this season primarily Bella, Remi and Vera.
Prices are for up to 2 hunters an additional hunter is $150, preferred hunting party is two hunters per guide. If your hunting party is larger than 4 hunters, do not hesitate in contacting us. We can accommodate larger groups using multiple guides. Michigan base license and HIP endorsement required. We recommend #7 1/2 or #8 shot. Plug needs to be installed if using a pump or semi-auto shotgun, gun capacity of no more than 3 shells.
During the month of September half day hunts are common as temperatures can rise above 70 degrees mid-morning, half days can either be morning or late afternoon hunts. I do not run my dogs at temps above 70 degrees. Once Fall sets in and temperatures cool then hunting can be done throughout the day.
Upland Bird Hunt – $425
- 1 – 2 Hunters
- 6 Hour Hunt (Start time around 8 or 9am to 2 to 3 pm)
- Field Lunch can occur either at mid-hunt or end of hunt
- Snacks and Drinks
- Can accomodate a third hunter for an additional $150.
